Validity of the Presidential Election in Poland
On the 3rd of August 2010 the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland issued a resolution ascertaining the validity of the Presidential Election of 2010.
The National Electoral Commission announced on the 5th of July that Bronisław Komorowski had been elected President of Poland.
The election took place prematurely due to the tragic death of the former president, Lech Kaczyński, in a plane crash near Smoleńsk on 10th April 2010.
The resolution od the Supreme Court will be published in the Journal of Laws.

The First President of the Supreme Court will be host of the official visit of the delegation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Latvia in Poland on April 20-23, 2009.
Members of the delegation will be:
- Ivars BIČKOVIČS - The Chief Justice
- Gunars AIGARS - Chair of the Chamber of Civil Cases
- Pavels GRUZIN© - Chair of the Department of Criminal Cases of the Senate
The delegation will be visiting:
- Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland
- Constitutional Tribunal of the Republic of Poland
- Supreme Administrative Court
- National Council for Judicature
On the 22nd of April the delegation will be visiting Krakow where meeting with the district court judges is planned.
It is the second official visit of the Latvian justices in Poland. The first visit took place in 1996, delegation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland revisited Latvia in 1997.
